About
The Clan Today
The clan is made up of mainly 20+ guys who are friendly and enjoy a bit of banter. We compete in the ED ladders and cups. We mainly play Mon-Thu and sometimes a Sunday. We’ll give any map a bash. We look to have fun yet play to win.
The Bitches History
Back in Feb 2000 MoMMa and Pedro decided to form Life’s a Bitch. A few days after [-LaB-] was created we started getting members in. MoMMa was the hook and people taking the bait.
After a few weeks we had a pretty solid team going. We all agreed to start playing matches and signed up to Clanbase in may of 2000. Our highest rank was 17th! (back then that was decent). We played some epic games – win, lose or draw, and some of the war reports from Rathina were fantastic reads. Better than the games themselves!
A few years down the line Pedro didn’t have enough time to be clan leader any more so the mantle was passed on to Savvy. Savvy did a great job in leading the team. Savvy, Rathina and Wez started to arrange LANs in Newcastle. A lot of hard work went into these LANs which everyone enjoyed so much it was sad when we all had to leave. MoMMa even cried at the end of the first LAN! Savvy on the last LAN told everyone that he was giving up CL status as he didn’t have time to be there for us so handed CL status to MoMMa. She tried her best at being CL, trying to keep everyone happy and pulling the clan out of a hole a few times!
In 2002 LaB were the 3rd clan to join the Enemydown Ladder and so began our long and illustrious career in the Premiership. Eventually no clan would accept challenges in the Premiership for fear of dropping points, so LaB decided to drop down to the 1st division where we remained top for a number of years. MoMMa also became an ED admin. The ladder system has all changed now and you no longer get that great feeling of winning promotion anymore *sniff*.
With pressures at home, being an ED admin and clan leader of LaB things started getting pretty heavy for her, she decided to give that up and continue to be CL to [-LaB-] but after a while the situation got worse and again the mantle was passed to Diedalot who is still a member to this day.
In 2006 LaB finally called it quits on 1.6 and we headed in our seperate directions to persue those sticky dirty things called a life. We still remained friends and would occasionaly meet up at the Gumpcom LAN in Scotland for a get together.
In 2008 a few of our members started to miss playing the game and came back to the scene. We realised that the 1.6 scene was pretty much dead and that CS:S was the way forward. PhantoM had joined a CS:S team called Dragon Rock. After a while a few LaB members were recruited into the clan. Finally our passion returned and we decided to reform LaB as a CS:S team. Thus brings us to where we are today
All the current and past members of LaB have all been great, friendly and stuck together through thick and thin. Most of us remain friends to this day.
